NJAFP is supporting a grant awarded to the New Jersey Chapter of the American College of Physcians (ACP-NJ) to improve chronic pain management in New Jersey. Building on a successful pilot study in collaboration with the Kentucky chapter of ACP, the Center for Quality has developed resources and training approaches that can help primary care practices improve chronic pain management through strategies such as: increased screening and referral for depression and anxiety; improved assessment of opioid misuse; implementation of patient-centered controlled substance contracts, among others. This program includes free resources and coaching services, and is open to both family physicians and internal medicine physicians across New Jersey.
